10. Blackberry Farm Spring Gallop

This morning I ran a 5K.  It was at Blackberry Farm in Aurora.  The morning temp was 34 degrees so it was pretty rough on the lungs.  I didn't do great, but I didn't expect much either. It did rank in my top 5 times for a 5K.  Although...I have only run 5 of them, which means I have run the same amount of 5Ks as I have marathons.  Crazy!  My first mile was just under 7 minutes and the next two were 8 minutes each.  For each of the second two miles I had to stop as I thought I was going to throw up.  I've been fighting a respiratory thing for months and it hit me pretty hard this morning.  Oh well.  Hopefully it will warm up a bit and conditions will be much better for the race at my school on May 22nd.

Melissa and the girls came along to cheer me on. Charlie came too but he was resting in the stroller.

Dad also got out to see me run for the first time ever.  I was happy to see him come.  I can remember going out to see him run a race when I was 7 or 8 for a race on July 4th. I'm told I went to a bunch of his races when I was younger, but that was a long time ago. One of these days it would be fun to get out and run/walk one together.  Maybe for my next list of goals.

Check out that stud!

Two more races to go and this goal will be done.  I should be in good shape to get this done in the next couple of months.

Wow what an inspiration! I can't believe you've already completed 59 goals! I understand that you've been doing this a long time, and it only calculates to 3 goals a month. But still, I've only completed 9 goals and I've been doing it for it 6 months. I'm only going about half your rate. Geez! I need to get a move on.

Thanks for being an inspiration. BTW, I've added you to my friends list on my challenge blog.

Keep up the great work!

That 4th of July race was when you were almost 4. Quite a good memory!
